I wonder if there is a way to help people like me steer towards offline lists. If you've used the basic app (most people have) it works on a `live` basis, so when you transition, it feels natural to jump straight into live ( well, it did to me).
Now I'm taking some time to create offline lists of the areas, or caches, I'm interested in for the day, and the workflow is much smoother.
The problem with just removing the option is that it makes the app look like it's got less functionality that it has ( kinda), and people may not understand why they see it sometimes, and not others. On the other hand, you can't leave an option which doesn't do anything in there.
It is an awesome map too, to be able to quickly see if a trackable has been where I'me headed is very useful.
I set a waypoint colour to white ( the top option) and got a casting error - see screenshot. I reproduced it for multiple multi-caches.
Once the error is triggered, you can no longer access the waypoints for that cache. even re-adding that cache to a new offline list doesn't clear the error.
Thank you, that did help. I read your message a couple of times, then jumped into the app to experiment.
It was when I noticed the difference in the options for each waypoint that it twigged for me - as per my screenshots if this helps anyone else - waypoints accessed from live don't have the "Show on Map" option which is what makes it possible (and very easy) to target individual waypoints.
I suspect it me, not the app, but I'm struggling a bit using Geooh for Multi-caches with multiple waypoints.
If I'm in the live view, I can click on a multi and I get little flag points for each one. When I click on the flag I can see which one it is when I click on the description for the flag, I can get a compass.
Where I'm getting stuck is that when I'm part way through a multi, I
tap the cache choose show more choose description to find out what's required for the next waypoint choose waypoints to find out where the next waypoint is
Then, I'm stuck. I get a choice of `show details` `navigate to` `add waypoint` or `set waypoint colour`
Navigate to opens google maps, which I rarely want - I want the map and the compass, cos it's probably just a short walk away, but I want to see where it is before I commit to how I'm going to get there.
So, then, I go `Back`, then `Back` again to the live view.
And, I see all of the waypoints - I can't tell which is the one I'm interested in now until I click them all.
It would be nice if they were coloured to the colour set in the waypoints page, or greyed out if could mark them off as done.
What am I missing here? ( let me know if screenshots would help to clarify anything I haven't been clear about)
Thanks, I love using Geooh, and working this out will stop a small headache. Bestchicken.
As per the title - see attached screenshots for https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC8RWBB stage 4 - in the groundspeak app it's got some text and the formula for the next waypoint - but in geooh Go, it's got nothing.
To get this screen I 1. press on the cache 2. show more -> 3. press waypoints 3. show details
Thank you, that is exactly what I wanted - and yep, I'm still coming to terms with all the functionality, and the way things work, and I'm enjoying the app more every time I find something new.
If I've got online list I created on the geocaching website, I can see it in geooh, I can show them on a map, but if I click on them, I only get two options "Navigate to" and "Show Web Page"
What I want is for them to be available like a regular geooh offline list - but I can't see a way of moving the entire list, or copying the caches from the online list to an offline list.
I expect I'm missing something obvious here, but...
Thanks for your interest, and your helpful gif - what tool did you use to create it ?
However, I tried, it, and I think that the only coordinates available for me to copy are the cache itself (S 35° 17.902 E 149° 06.819) , and not the waypoint coordinates which are buried in the description (S 35 17.898 E 149 06.844)
I worked out that if I'm looking at a cache on the regular map, then the waypoints appear, and I can click on the waypoint description and navigate to it via the map and compass from that screen.
But, the map icon on the bottom of my waypoints list screen is definitely not there.
