I have a thought:
When submitting logs to geocaching.com as a draft, the placeholders don't get substituted. Would that be possible?
When having to write longer logs I prefer doing it on a computer with a proper keyboard and then the notes from the draft have to be rewritten.
I have thought of what the downside would be and can't really think of some.

I updated the app in 13.3.2 to fill in the placeholders when storing a draft. There may be pushback from others that wanted to be able to update placeholders in drafts, but we'll go this direction for now since once someone wants to use drafts on the server from another app, the placeholders would never get updated.
It works great in the new version
