I am using a live map. I load the caches in one spot, then I move the live map to other nearby location that out of the current map range and pressed the refresh button. I found all the caches previously loaded have been cleared on the map. I have "Clear Map on Refresh" option deselected. Is it supposed to behave like this?
How many caches have been loaded on the Live map? There is an upper limit of 300 so any caches above the limit are removed that are furthest away from your location.
For my case, it is less than thirty unfound caches.
Does the 300 count include those found (smiley caches) caches?
Unless you selected to show your finds they aren't included in the count. A video of the behavior you are seeing would help me to understand better. Also, a screenshot of your Live Map settings.
The video is so large to upload. It is over 300mb. I caotured some setting screens that seems related for your reference.
While i capture the video, i found the live map loads 300 times on urban area even I only got less than 50 caches with AL in one area. However when I move to rural area, it loads only 130 times.
I tried to upload with a shorter video. You can see i load those caches in urban area but when i try to load at rural area and go back to urban area, those previously loaded caches all disappeared.
The video shows you have filters applied indicated by the bottom button bar second button from left. It is green which means you have filters on. Disable it and see what happens.
It worked perfectly after disable the filter.
So what is the best practice of using the filter? Should I disable the filter everytime i reload?
That's up to you... depends whether you need to filter the Live map.
I plan to had a message that filters are applied after a refresh so it's more clear that the map was filtered to help with a situation like yours.
