Shade Counties Not Shading Counties with Hides

I have County Boundaries turned on and selected Unites States, Wisconsin, Shade Counties, Label Counties. I have no counties selected to shade.

The county borders and labels show up but none of the counties with hides are shaded.
When I select all counties to be shaded they show up as shaded.

Am I misinterpreting how this feature works? I expect only the counties that I have found a cache to be shaded.

Since geocaches have NO county information from Groundspeak the app needs to build an internal database of county finds. For Geooh to know which counties to shade (finds) you have to do one of the following:

  • Log a find with Geooh
  • Manually shade a single county by long-pressing it on the map and select Shade
  • Manually shade one or more found counties in the Manage Counties dialog (which you did)
  • Use the Import button and Load My Finds to pre-populate the internal county database

The easiest and quickest initial build is of course through the import of my finds. You just selected all counties which is why they all showed as found (shaded). Unselect them to start over and rebuild them from the methods above.

Let me know if that helps.

Thank you. That make sense.
Could you elaborate on item #4? I downloaded a Pocket Query but it looks like the import function is looking for a CSV file.

Just found a bug...

In the Manage Counties dialog press the Export/Import at the bottom left, press Load My Finds also bottom left...

Normally, this allows you to select a MyFinds pocket query to pre-load the county database, but something new in the app has caused the wrong selection to show. I'll get a fix out today. Thanks for letting me know!

Guess my coffee hadn't kicked in yet... there is no bug...

After pressing the Load My Finds button you are shown a dialog to select a GPX file of your finds which you've created from Groundspeak via their Pocket Query. The Explain button describes that. Loading up your finds will have Geooh determine the county the finds are in and automatically shade them in Geooh's internal database. After that you just log finds and Geooh determines its county and shades it... no need to do the Load My Finds.

Let me know if that works... and I'm drinking coffee now so more awake.
