Delete multiple caches from list October 19, 2019, 10:54:26 AM Hello,I have some caches on offline list that I want to remove. I can remove caches one by one, but I did not find any way, how to select multiple caches and remove them all by one click. Is it possible? Because removing 80 caches one by one is a big pain. Also, after confirmation, there is an strange "null..." message shown. Quote Selected
Re: Delete multiple caches from list Reply #1 – October 19, 2019, 11:02:29 AM Currently, there is no way to select multiple caches in the list for a delete, but it's on a to-do list for a future release. To save some time are you aware you can also swipe a row while in delete mode to avoid a confirmation?I can't seem to replicate the error in the screenshot. Does this happen all the time? If not, is there a pattern when it does? Quote Selected
Re: Delete multiple caches from list Reply #2 – October 19, 2019, 11:41:38 AM No I did not found the swipe trick. But I deleted these caches on map screen - set up filter and then used "Delete all visible".But tried now and it does not request conformation, but no progress bar is shown - application just freeze for several seconds. So removing more caches could take a some time.Regarding the message, it is shown always when I confirm cache deletion and cache is deleting. It looks like it is caused by auto translation to Czech. When I finally found out, where to switch it off and restarted the app, it show text "Working..." now. Quote Selected
Re: Delete multiple caches from list Reply #3 – January 26, 2020, 03:42:01 AM After some time I again have to delete some caches from the list. My primary list reached the sky limit (1000 caches) and force download new/update existing caches. So I need clean up caches, that are to far. And deleting is one big pain. Deleting of one cache takes 35 second! And I want to delete about 200 caches :-(With confirmation dialog, there is "Working…" message displayed and when I use Swipe, screen simply froze to 30 seconds. It needs some optimization probably. Re: Delete multiple caches from list Reply #4 – January 26, 2020, 08:26:02 AM The delete is sending an API request to Groundspeak and waiting for a confirmation it succeeded. Could have been a day when their servers were slow or a network delay? Quote Selected
Re: Delete multiple caches from list Reply #5 – January 26, 2020, 09:04:34 AM API request to Groundspeak? I thought that lists are stored locally. Why is this API request needed? Quote Selected
Re: Delete multiple caches from list Reply #6 – January 26, 2020, 10:24:40 AM Ah, was thinking of the online lists. My guess is with a large offline list it took time to rewrite the database with the changes. At this point it would be a major rewrite to use an alternative. Quote Selected
Re: Delete multiple caches from list Reply #7 – January 29, 2020, 08:04:50 PM There were changes made in 10.3 to try to minimize delete interference slowing down the user interface. Let me know how it goes. Quote Selected
