Logs and Log Template, Log snippets

I am trying to figure out how to use the logging features and I am not understanding how to exactly set them up. Does anyone have an example of a Log Template and can explain how to set the following features?

Log Header
Log Footer
[FOUND]
[DNF]
[NOTE]
Use Log Template
Log Snippets

Thank you for any help you can provide.

You can take a simple or complex path. The simple is to use the Log Header/Footer settings to insert text before or after the text you enter for a log.

Next, use placeholders (like [COUNT]) in text (or templates) that will be replaced with corresponding values when submitting a log.

Next, use of the [FOUND]/[DNF]/[NOTE] are a step up in that you determine what text is used to replace those placeholders. And those placeholders are only populated when the corresponding log type matches. So, you could have all three placeholders in the same log or template, but only one is use if matching log type.

Next, create a template file that is used. This template looks for the [LOG] placeholder so that it can insert your log text into the template file when submitting.

Finally, experiment! Try using any of the above and then tap the Log Preview button to see how it will all look when the log is sent to Groundspeak. It will make sense when you try and see how things will look. And, you don't even need to use placeholders or templates... those are advanced logging features, but not required. Just use Geooh like the official app when logging if it's too confusing.

This is very helpful, knowing that I can do some tests without creating permanent logs is very handy. I just logged a cache this morning and noticed how to get to the snippets I had made. I think I have been over thinking it some.
