mapping questions

Hey, love the app just bought and subscribed today. couple questions i am struggling with on my own:

1. how to manage counties from a spreadheet? (saw that in description, but in app i can only sort out checking and unchecking). i was sort of hoping it would auto shade based on finds, but now realize i have to. thats ok, but trying to check each one is not ideal... maybe i'm missing the import feature somewhere?

2. same topic, but for delorme challenge. i see where you mention delorme is supported but i dont understand/see how to get there.

starting this coming weekend we are going to do both counties and delorme for the entire florda panhandle and north part of the state and using this app might be a real boon for us, if we can figure it out!  :D

Thanks for using Geooh!

1) There are several ways to manage counties.
  • Geooh does automatically shade counties when you log a find.
  • You can manually shade a county with a long-press on the map county... then press the Shade or Unshade.
  • You can import a CSV file from a spreadsheet if you have been managing it yourself.
  • If you want to rebuild the entire county finds database, import your MyFinds.gpx pocket query via the Load my Finds button after clicking Export/Import from Manage Counties.

 2) Geooh supports any type of overlays in KML or GeoJSON format. You add an overlay from the Alternate Maps section in settings and check Use Map Overlays. From there Geooh shows a dialog and a button to download pre-made Delorme overlays from the Geooh website. You can then select which overlays to show by selecting the folder you stored them in and then select which ones you want on the map.

Let me know if that helps>

thanks those both worked a treat. i missed the import/export at the bottom of counties and thats where i was stumped. got delorme turned on too!

the app has crashed a handful of times, always when looking at the map. if i quickly restart i will get an immediate crash. if i wait a few seconds before reopning it seems to be fine. no major worries yet, but if there is something obvious or a log i can post let me know.

right now, this is my new fave geocaching app. thanks for the excellent work.

I think I got a bug report on the issue for you. There appears to be some contention on the overlays with different parts of Geooh trying to access the overlays at the same time. I've updated the app to try to prevent that. After the next release if you encounter the startup problem again, please let me know.

awesome!!! i'll try to recreate (hasn't crashed since of course!) but haven't been able to  recently. it was definitely related to moving map, refreshing caches, etc and i have counties and delorme layers on...

really enjoying it!
